What is drawn

Circle, square, triangle, rectangle, oval, pentagon, hexagon, octagon, star, diamond, crescent and heart. The shape is drawn on the front as an outline and its name is on the back. Nothing is written on the front, because a shape card with its name on it is a reading card.

12 cards, six to a sheet, 2 sheets and 4 pages with the backs. The card is 95 by 92.3 mm and the backs set at 49.67 pt.

Square and diamond are the same shape

They are, and they are both in the deck, because they are not the same card. The diamond is the square turned through forty-five degrees, and the pack carries both so that the two can be put side by side. The rectangle is drawn wider than it is tall for the same reason: a rectangle that happens to be square is a square.

How the shapes are drawn

Every polygon is drawn from its own number of sides rather than from a picture, so a hexagon has six corners because it was built with six. The heart and the crescent are curves rather than polygons and are drawn as curves.
