A hundred cards

1 to 100, ten to a sheet in a 2 by 5 grid, so 10 sheets and 20 pages counting the backs. The card is 95 by 55.4 mm. The fronts set at 64 pt and the backs at 33.96 pt, which is the size “seventy-seven” needs on a card that wide.

No dots above twenty

The backs carry the word only from 21 upwards. Sixty-three dots are not a quantity anybody reads at a glance; they are a texture. Below 21 the dots are drawn, so a hundred deck has dots on its first twenty cards and words on the rest.

What a hundred cards is for

It is a lot of paper and a lot of cutting, and it is worth saying what you get for it: a hundred cards laid out in a ten by ten square is a hundred square you can pick up. Cards can be turned over, taken away and put back, which a printed hundred square cannot.
