Three ways of saying the same thing

The front is the numeral. The back carries the word and, under it, that many dots in a grid. A card for 7 says seven three times over: as a figure, as a word, and as a count you can touch. That is the whole idea of the deck, and it is why the back is worth printing.

1 to 20 is 20 cards, six to a sheet in a 2 by 3 grid, so 4 sheets and 8 pages with the backs. The card is 95 by 92.3 mm. The fronts set at 64 pt and the backs at 45.15 pt, smaller because “seventeen” is a longer word than any numeral is wide.

The dots stop at twenty

Above 20 the back carries the word and no dots. Sixty-three dots on a card are not a quantity anybody can see at a glance, they are a texture, and counting them is a different and much duller exercise than the one this card is for.

Setting the range

From and to take anything from 0 to 100. Zero is allowed and its back has the word and no dots, which is the correct number of dots for nothing. There are pages for the ranges 1 to 10 and 1 to 100, each of them this deck with the range set for you.
