What is in the deck

Every product in the range you set. At 1 to 12 that is 144 cards, because it is every pair of numbers from the range and not just the ones people usually drill. 7 x 3 and 3 x 7 are both there. They are the same product and they are not the same card.

Eight to a sheet in a 2 by 4 grid is 18 sheets. The file has 36 pages, because every sheet is two consecutive pages: page 1 is the front of sheet 1 and page 2 is its back, page 3 is the front of sheet 2, and so on. A card is 95 by 69.3 mm and both sides set at 64 pt, which is the largest type this press uses.

Printing it

The pages are in the order a double-sided printer wants them, so the simplest thing is to set the printer to double-sided and send it the whole file. It will put page 1 and page 2 on the two sides of one sheet, which is what they are.

If you are feeding the paper back in by hand, print the odd pages first, put the stack back in, and print the even pages. Every print dialogue can do that. What you must not do is print the first half of the file and then the second half: the pages alternate, so that puts answers on the front of half your cards.

The backs are laid out in reverse. Which reverse depends on your printer: set flip to the long edge if it turns the sheet the way a book opens, and to the short edge if it turns it the way a notepad opens. Print one sheet before you print eighteen.

Narrowing it down

144 cards is a lot of paper for a child working on one table. Set from and to to a narrower range, or use the tables page, which sets a single table and comes out at 12 cards on 2 sheets.
