Music note flashcards

Thirteen notes on the treble stave, from middle C upwards, named on the back. 13 cards on 3 sheets.

What is on the front

A five-line stave, a treble clef, and one note. The clef is drawn on every card, and that is not decoration: a notehead on a bare stave has more than one right answer, because which line is which depends entirely on the clef in front of it. Without it the card is unanswerable.

13 cards running C D E F G A B C D E F G A from middle C upwards. Six to a sheet is 3 sheets and 6 pages with the backs. The card is 95 by 92.3 mm and the backs set at 64 pt.

The two ledger lines

Middle C sits below the stave and is drawn with a short line through it. The A at the top sits above the stave and gets one too. Those two lines are part of the answer, not part of the drawing: a note floating below the stave with no ledger line is not middle C, it is nothing.

The range

The deck covers the treble stave and one step past it at each end. That is where a beginner reads, and it is as far as this deck goes. There is no bass clef here.
